Question:      Where and how can I Register as a Contractor with the Lagos State Government

Answer:        Pick up the Contractor Registration Form at the State Tenders Board, Secretariat, Room 315, Block 1, The Secretariat, Ikeja or the Form can be downloaded from our website www.stb.lagosstate.gov.ng

Question:      What should I do with the form?

Answer:        You are expected to carefully read the form and supply appropriate information in the relevant fields

Question:      What should I do after completing the form?
Answer:        i. Write an application letter addressed to the Secretary State Tenders Board as a Lagos State Contractor on your Company letter head and in your application clearly indicate your category/class of interest.
ii. Obtain a Bank Reference letter, addressed to the Secretary State Tenders Board from your Banker(s);

Question:      How do I know the amount to be paid for the Registration?
Answer:        There are Four Classes and the Fees payable are:

Question:      What should I do after payment?
Answer:        After payment, you are expected to attach and submit the blue copy of the teller obtained from the bank with two photocopies of electronic receipts

Question:      How do I know my tax compliance status?
Answer:        You are to verify your tax information with the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service for a sole proprietorship, a 3-year tax clearance of the MD or CEO is required whilst for a Limited Liability Company, Tax clearance of the MD and at least a director is required 

Question:      Where can I pay the Development Levy and Pay as you Earn Tax for Key Staff?
Answer:        The Development levy should be paid at the Lagos State Internal Revenue Service, Good Shepherd house, opposite Alausa Secretariat main gate. Evidence of PAYE should be submitted.

Question:      How long will it take to process the application?
Answer:        The application will be processed once all requirements are met, but a letter of Provisional Registration valid for 3 months will be issued as soon as all requirements are submitted

 Question:      What else do I need to do at the Bank after payment?
Answer:        Please ensure that you carefully check the account codes and that they correspond with the Contract Registration requirements; thereafter obtain your electronic receipt as this is mandatory for subsequent transactions with the State Tenders Board.

Question:      Will my registration lead to immediate award of contract?
Answer:        No, registration is a process of showing your intention to offer services to the State Government and does not imply that the State Government is bound to patronize your company.

Question:      Does this registration cover Parastatals of the State Government and Other Agencies?
Answer:        Yes, all contractors that intend to bid for any job with the Agencies of the Lagos State Government, its parastatals , departments as well as Local Governments/Local Council Development Areas must register with the State Tenders Board.

Question:      Can I upgrade my status if already registered?
Answer:        Yes , the registration gives room for contractors to upgrade from classes A, B and C depending on the payment of the necessary fees and submission of requisite documents.
